Unfortunately, the more technological advancements we make, the more potential pollution we create. These technological advancements do indeed enable some very important breakthroughs that can ultimately better the lives of countless people, but our energy and resources usage must stay in check to make sure that we don’t let pollution levels continue to climb at such dangerous rates. Fortunately, one of those technological advancements includes the advent of Biofuels. This special type of biodiesel fuel is derived from plant and organic materials, providing a renewable fuel source, which will go a long way in preserving ultra valuable resources on our planet.
There are several different approaches to the production of this special type of fuel. One of the more popular approaches includes bioethanol which is an alcohol that is made from fermenting sugar that is derived from plants. This sugar can be gotten from byproducts or directly from crops that are grown specially for biodiesel production such as sugar cane and starch crops.

Biodiesel production is one of the other rising stars in the alternative fuel industry and actually ranks as the most common biofuel in Europe. But its popularity doesn’t just exist overseas. You can find this type of biofuel at a wide variety of large chain gas pump stations around the United States, too. One of the reasons this fuel can be found at so many pumps is because of the process of making biodiesel it can be used in any standard diesel engine if it is mixed with the right proportion of mineral diesel. This proportion is usually set forth by the vehicle manufacturer, so vehicle owners should always pay careful attention to the information provided with their model. Another factor that vehicle owners will want to be mindful of is the climate they live in. Those who live in colder temperatures may run the risk of experiencing an increase in viscosity which will lower corresponding performance levels. However, with the right balance, this fuel is just as performance enhancing as others.
This availability has helped power this fuel’s popularity and make it much more of a reality for use among common consumers; not just specialty areas of industry. In fact, the availability of algae biofuel and cellulosic biofuel has extended well beyond the pump to spread its benefits into people’s homes as well. High oil prices have helped provide some immense encouragement for homeowners to seek out alternative fuel sources. Paired with the dangerous levels of global uncertainty, alternative fuel sources have risen to the top of many priority lists.
Regardless of whether you believe in global warming or not, there’s no arguing that a clean burning fuel is a good thing. The harmful effects of burning today’s petroleum based fuels are extremely well documented and prove that we are hurting our environment to a great degree. While the massive expansion of manufacturing around the globe often makes it hard to pinpoint exactly what is causing the most damage to our atmosphere and plants, we can be sure that much of it comes from the dirty fuels we burn on a daily basis. So then we should gather that more of the onus is on the shoulders of biofuel proponents. While this type of fuel may have a large list of extremely obvious benefits, it has the unenviable task of being the new guy on the block. Supporters of this type of fuel have the task of providing enough proof that this fuel has the ability to completely replace our current most popular forms of fuel. A partial replacement will only garner so much respect, and it is this proof of burden that continues to slow the process.
In addition, there are a staggering amount of special interest groups that have a very strong hold on current fuel usage. These groups need a massive wakeup call on a large scale, including mandatory, government enforced, education sessions, imparting the many benefits and uses of this environmentally friendly fuel source.
